Saving resources in our customers' supply chains

One of Nefab’s main sustainability objectives is to minimize global carbon emissions, 20-30% of which is accounted for by the transportation of goods. In addition, unoptimized packaging can reduce transport efficiency by up to 50%, which contributes to even further waste of resources throughout the supply chain.

When developing sustainable solutions at Nefab, we take a holistic approach that includes all aspects of the supply chain to minimize environmental impact. By working collectively on a global and local level with our customers to reduce the amount of packaging needed per solution through optimization, we increase recycled material content and develop fully recyclable solutions.

Broad, Multi-material Portfolio

As a result, Nefab provides complete, multi-material packaging solutions, engineered to mitigate environmental impact while maintaining the highest possible performance. On top of this, we continue to invest further in circular packaging solutions and returnable flows. Our broad portfolio of connected devices, plays a key part in this strategy. It allows Nefab to track and trace packaging in real time around the world. By measuring its temperature, shock, humidity, CO2 eq emissions, and more, we can ensure that optimal conditions are met during shipment.

Life Cycle Analysis

Another important digital tool in this regard is GreenCalc, a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) tool that identifies potential CO2 eq and cost savings of a packaging solution. GreenCalc looks at a material’s entire lifecycle, from cradle to grave and calculates the environmental impact for the packaging production, transportation, and end of life phases.
