In Your Supply Chain
Life Cycle Analysis
We have the tools in place to conduct full Life Cycle Analyses of the environmental impact of our packaging solutions, from the raw materials phase all the way to its end of life. We are able to calculate a number of parameters, such as global warming potential (GWP) or water consumption, by which we can measure impact at each stage in the cycle. Our experts can utilize this data to help you understand the impact of your existing packaging solutions and compare them to new solutions that can be designed with the aim to reduce your overall carbon footprint.
Green innovation and design
In the era of modern day Nefab, a large focus has been placed on finding smart new ways to provide greener packaging solutions, particularly in terms of material composition and design. Over the years, we have grown our global team of packaging engineers – not only in numbers, but in expertise as well; the continued advancement of technology opens the door to new opportunities in green solutions in many areas, and we have been learning and adapting along with it. With the help of strong partnerships with material based research companies and universities around the world, we work to challenge the notion of what packaging can be and what it can mean, for us and for the world which surrounds us. Despite the evolution of possibilities in material innovation over the years, Nefab's design philosophy has remained somewhat unchanged ever since the inception of our total cost approach. For each solution our engineers design, the ultimate goal is to hit the "packaging sweet spot," that is, to provide packaging that manages to reduce the amount of material to the lowest level possible while still optimizing its durability and product protection.
Returnable Systems
An easy way to reduce waste is by using a solution that can be reused several times over. Nefab has decades of experience designing, implementing and pooling returnable systems that can be used in as many as 50 cycles! Due to this, the reductions to cost and waste can be enormous when using a returnable solution. Thanks to Nefab's RECO software, which compares the cost of one-way and returnable solutions, and our Life Cycle Analysis tools, we can provide a full picture of the cost and environmental impact of making the switch to returnable.
