Nefab celebrates 75 years

June 28th, 2024 marks 75 years since the Nordgren brothers founded  Nefab in Runemo, Sweden in 1949.

Throughout the years, Nefab experienced rapid growth while expanding its frontiers to 38 countries around the world. With over 4,700 employees across the Americas, APAC, and EMEA regions, we are proud to pave the way for more sustainable supply chains worldwide.

To commemorate this anniversary, here are a few quick highlights throughout Nefab’s history:

EVERYTHING BIG STARTS SMALL

It all began when Elisabet Nordgren’s son took over their father’s carpentry business and began to produce boxes for a local baker to better transport bread. As the decades went by, Nefab’s reputation as an innovative and sustainable packaging supplier grew, and the company began offering complete engineered packaging solutions to customers all over the world.

A SUCCESSFUL OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE

The Nordgren/Pihl family were the sole/majority owners of Nefab Group until 2015. Since then, half of the company has been co-owned by FAM AB, who represents an important part of the Wallenberg sphere.

A PURPOSE-DRIVEN JOURNEY

In 2021, Nefab started to communicate its purpose more broadly. The core message – We save resources in supply chains, for a better tomorrow – reinforces Nefab’s commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and total costs in customers’ supply chains. In 2023, Nefab launched a new strategy – A Sustainable Growth Journey – in Malmö, Sweden, bringing leaders from all around the globe together to outline a successful vision and execution plan for 2030.
