At the Gold Pack Awards in South Africa Nefab's fiber-based lithium battery packaging solution convinced the jury and wins three gold medals.
Nefab, in collaboration with our partner Mpact, proudly announces that our innovative fiber-based lithium battery (LiB) packaging solution has won three gold medals at the prestigious Gold Pack Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa, in November 2024. This recognition underscores our commitment to sustainable packaging solutions in the lithium-ion battery industry.

The Winning Lithium-Ion Battery Packaging Solution
This sustainable packaging concept, designed for Polarium’s 250kVA lithium-ion batteries, was engineered by Nefab and manufactured by Mpact Limited. It meets rigorous standards, including an Edge Crush Test (ECT) of 13 kN/m, and replaces traditional polystyrene with recyclable corrugated materials, reducing CO2 emissions by 18% and landfill waste by 12%, according to GreenCalc.

The jury’s motivation highlighted the intelligent engineering and precision of the packaging design, stating that it replaces the need for environmentally harmful polystyrene packaging, thus contributing to sustainability goals.
